Ultrafiltration
As a very effective solution for use in water hygiene, Kuhfuss Sanitär offers
with "UltraPipe" the possibility of ultafiltration in the filtering of hot drinking water (HDW)
and cold drinking water (DW). If necessary, the ultrafiltration can
also be combined with a thermal treatment.
Particularly in older buildings, the disinfection of the pipework can be somewhat problematic and time-consuming – if it's
possible at all. For this area of construction, ultrafiltration provides a
reliable solution for filtering Legionella out of the water mechanically. The filter is automatically rinsed each time
after use so that any lingering dirt particles are
removed.
The products we deliver start with single filters built into the "UltraPipe" shower elements as complete units, over multiple shower installations with integrated "UltraPipe" systems, group filters for washbasins and showers – also
installable at a later date – right through to decentralised group filter
installations in a lockable stainless steel cupboard.
Filtering procedure for "UltraPipe" shower element
When in operation, the water is pushed through the capillaries by the pressure built up in the supply network.
Before and after the flushing phase, the water streams through the channels of the membranes and rinses out loose particles, bacteria and viruses. The flush water is released through an open outlet. This removes any deposits from the internal surfaces of the membrane. The electronic water flow control automatically ensures that a flush procedure is always performed either before or after each use of the shower.
At the independent Hygiene-Institut des Ruhrgebiets (Hygiene testing institute) in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, a number of tests were carried out on the "UltraPipe" legionella filter.
